Cows
“The Cow series” explore portraiture and the human condition of Anthropomorphism. This particular painting, titled Iron Lady, depicts a horned cow standing stoic and proud, looking out beyond the horizon. Geare’s cows make reference to American feminism as well as bring into question the source of the American beef market. Where does our beef come from? Who were these creatures and how were they raised and handled before they made their way to the butcher and packaged for consumption?
